Tools for the Environmental Quality Control

Goals:

The course is intended to prepare students to integrate tools for environmental control in their research projects in industrial use and applications. The content, methods and techniques and monitoring strategies are based on specific industrial needs of the students. The understanding and proper use of the environmental legislation at the international, European and national level will also be integrated in the course.

Content:

Environmental measurements
• basic environmental chemistry
• strategies for planning in environmental measurements
• validation of methods
• environmental pollutants (organic, inorganic, radionuclides)
• tracers in environmental studies
• environmental modelling as the basis for monitoring strategies

Environmental quality control
Validation of analytical methods, internal and external quality control, reference materials, uncertainty and traceability, laboratory information systems.

The basis of environmental legislation
• the basis of environmental legislation
• the legal relationship between Environmental protection law and Phisical planning law
• environmental consent and environmental protection permit
• The concession and water permit
• economic and financial environmental protection instruments (faxes, amission allowance trading….)
• public utility services
• environmental monitoring and environmental information
