In Vitro Manipulation of Stem Cells

Goals:

Students get acquainted with the existence of different stem cell types and their differences in isolation and in vitro manipulation during various cellular process studies.

Content:

In vitro stem cell manipulation:
- Isolation of different types of stem cells from various tissues.
- Cellular microenvironment effects (hypoxia, nutrients) on isolation/expansion of stem cells.
- Techniques to study behaviour of stem cells in the in vitro model environment of their in vivo niche.
