Predmetni sklop obravnava dve področji komuniciranja znanosti:
1. Poljudno komuniciranje znanosti
2. Strokovno poročanje in prijava projekta
Ad.1: V modulu “Poljudno komuniciranje znanosti” se slušatelji seznanijo z osnovnimi pristopi k podajanju znanstvenih vsebin na poljuden način in pomenom komuniciranja z laično javnostjo. Obravnavani so klasični in novi mediji. Slušatelji dobijo smernice za pisanje poljudnoznanstvenih člankov in predavanj, podajanje izjav pred mikrofonom ter nastope pred kamero. Izpopolnijo se tudi pri uporabi družbenih omrežij v komuniciranju znanosti. Predstavljen je pristop k pisanju člankov v dnevnem časopisju, nasveti za pripravo na nastop v radijskih in televizijskih prispevkih, intervjujih in oddajah na temo znanosti ter nasveti, kako pripraviti dober znanstveni pič. Predstavljene so tudi pasti in napake v poljudnem poročanju o znanosti. Delo poteka v obliki delavnic, pri katerih sodelujejo znanstvene novinarke oz. novinarji, na voljo je možnost obiska radijskega studia in vaje pred mikrofonom. Domače delo predvideva pisne izdelke ali posnetke, ki jih slušatelji predložijo v oceno.
Ad.2: V modulu “Strokovno poročanje in prijava projekta” je poudarek na pripravi znanstvenega članka in govornega prispevka na strokovni konferenci, spoznajo pa se tudi z osnovami priprave projektne prijave.
Slušatelji se izpopolnijo v pripravi dobrega povzetka in naslova znanstvenega prispevka. V modulu sta predstavljena vidika avtorjev znanstvenega članka in recenzentov oz. urednikov revije, poudarjena je znanstvena integriteta. Slušatelji dobijo nasvete, kako se lotiti priprave govornega prispevka ter kako se spopasti s tremo pred nastopom.
Pouk poteka v obliki delavnic, ki vključujejo številne vaje, v katerih slušatelji izpopolnijo svoje pisne in govorne veščine. Domače delo predvideva pisne izdelke ali posnetke, ki jih slušatelji predložijo v oceno.

The present subject set deals with two areas of science communication:
1. Popular science communication
2. Professional reporting and project application
Ad.1: In the module "Communication of Science to the Public", the students become familiar with the importance of communication with the lay public and with the basic approaches to delivering scientific content in a simplified (popular) manner. Classical and new media are discussed. Students receive guidelines for writing popular science articles, lectures, or scientific pitches. They receive guidelines on how to use social networks effectively to communicate science widely. Students improve their ability to write articles for daily newspapers and magazines. They receive guidance on preparing for radio and television interviews or shows. The course also discusses pitfalls and errors in popular science reporting. The work takes place through workshops in which scientific journalists are involved; there is also an opportunity to visit the radio studio and practice in front of the microphone. Homework involves written products or recordings that students submit for assessment.
Ad.2: In the module "Professional reporting and project application" the emphasis is on the preparation of a scientific article and a talk at a professional conference. Students become familiar with the project application process. Students improve their ability to prepare a strong summary and title for a scientific paper. The course presents the roles of scientific article authors and reviewers. Scientific integrity is emphasised. Students receive guidance on preparing a conference presentation and talk, as well as on performing on stage as effectively as possible.

The lessons take place as workshops and include many exercises in which students improve their writing and speaking skills. Homework involves written products or recordings that students submit for assessment.

Predmetni sklop »Komuniciranje znanosti« je namenjen magistrskim in doktorskim študentom MPŠ, odprt pa je tudi za udeležbo zunanjih slušateljev.
V modulu »Poljudno komuniciranje znanosti« se bodo udeleženci spoznali s pomenom definiranja ciljne publike, cilji komuniciranja, z načini, kako poljudno, torej zanimivo in razumljivo, predstaviti svoje znanstveno delo. Pridobili bodo tudi veščino, kako poljudnost uravnotežiti s strokovnostjo. Na delavnicah se bodo spoznali tudi z osnovami javnega nastopanja, lahko pa se bodo preizkusili tudi v veščinah poljudnega poročanja v različnih vrstah medijev.
V modulu »Znanstveno poročanje in prijava projekta« se slušatelji spoznajo s postopki priprave znanstvenega članka ali govornega prispevka in s pripravo projektne prijave.

The subject set "Science Communication" is aimed at master's and doctoral students in IPS and is also open to other students.
In the module "Popular Science Communication", they will learn the importance of defining the target audience and communication objectives, and how to present their scientific work in a popular, interesting, and understandable way. They will learn to balance popular and professional styles. The workshops will also cover the basics of public speaking and reporting.
In the module "Scientific Reporting and Project Proposal", the students will become familiar with the steps of preparing a scientific paper or oral presentation, as well as the preparation of project applications.

- Uvodno predavanje
- Predavanja in delavnice potekajo strnjeno v kratkem časovnem obdobju. Pouk poteka interaktivno, študentje so stalno aktivno vključeni v pouk.
- Pripravijo in izročijo vsaj tri pisne izdelke oziroma posnetke ter predstavijo svoje izdelke: opis svojih raziskav za tri ciljne publike, strokovni in poljudni povzetek, blog, posnetek predstavitve ipd.
- Obisk radijskega in TV studia
- Zaključni pogovor o pridobljenih veščinah in odprtih vprašanjih.
- Konzultacije oz. pomoč pri pripravi prispevkov so študentom na voljo skozi celo šolsko leto oz. celo študijsko obdobje.

- Introductory lecture
- Workshops are clustered within a short period of time.
- High degree of interactivity; the students actively participate in the workshop.
- They prepare and deliver at least three written products or recordings and present their work, such as a summary of their research for three different publics, an abstract and a lay summary, a blog, a presentation, etc.
- Visit to the radio and TV studio
- Final discussion about acquired skills and open questions.
- Consultations or assistance in preparing papers is available to students throughout the school year and the entire academic period.
