ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: This workshop is tailored for researchers at the early stages of their scientific careers. The first part will focus on intensive grant proposal writing – a strong project idea and a well-prepared application are crucial for securing funding. All key elements of writing successful proposals will be covered in depth. From around 11:30, the focus will shift to career planning, featuring a discussion with a fellow researcher who will share their journey toward an established research career. The session will conclude with informal Q&A.

ABOUT THE LECTURER: Richard Wheeler has a rich scientific background, with many years spent at the University of Edinburgh and as a Research Manager in various European laboratories. He is an expert in artificial intelligence, an experienced EU project manager, and Chair or Vice-Chair of several EU funding calls. He currently serves as European Projects Manager at the European Sustainable Energy Innovation Alliance at Graz University of Technology, and at the Balkan Institute for Labor and Social Policy in Sofia.
