IPS invites you to the Defence of the Doctoral Dissertation by Eva Vidak titled: Extracellular roles of apoptotic caspases and cysteine cathepsins in cancer. The defence will take place on Friday, 3 April 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the B220 Lecture Room (JSI, building B, 2nd floor, Jamova c. 39, 1000 Ljubljana).

Short summary:

The dissertation researches the roles of apoptotic caspases and cysteine cathepsins in the extracellular environment. Both types of cysteine proteases, typically located inside cells, can under certain pathological conditions localize outside the cell and potentially affect disease progression by degrading extracellular substrates.
