What rhythms govern events in nature, society and our everyday lives? How does science influence the world around us, and how does research change our understanding of life?
These questions are addressed by the RhythmOfLife project, which brings science and the work of researchers to the wider public in an accessible, engaging and inclusive way.
As part of the event, more than 100 interactive events will take place across Slovenia, bringing science to visitors of all ages. Numerous research, educational, cultural and nature conservation institutions are taking part, so on this day the doors of laboratories, museums, research institutions, parks and other places of learning will be opened. Among other things, visitors will be able to take a peek into areas they do not usually have access to, test their research skills and meet researchers who will present their work in a slightly different way. Through interactive activities, visitors will discover just how deeply science is woven into our everyday lives and how it helps us understand the processes and rhythms that shape the world around us.
The main event of this year’s programme will be the European Researchers’ Night on Friday, 25 September 2026, whilst some research activities will also continue on Saturday, 26 September.
You can look forward to scientific experiments, workshops, interactive presentations, games, talks, tours, exploring nature and plenty of surprises for curious minds of all ages. Whether you’re interested in plants, animals, people, the environment, technology, history or simply everyday questions, you’re sure to find something to suit you in the programme.
Join us on 25 and 26 September and learn about science up close – through questions, exploration, experimentation and conversations with the people who make it happen.
