IPS invites you to the Defence of the Doctoral Dissertation by Boštjan Gec titled: Discovery of Exact Equations in Mathematical Databases. The defence will take place on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at the Electronics Lecture Room (38/39, Technology Park, Teslova 30, 1000 Ljubljana).

Short summary:

The dissertation develops methods for discovering exact mathematical equations that perfectly fit the given data. Using algorithms from number theory and computational algebraic geometry, we successfully reconstruct known relations and discover new ones in integer sequences from the OEIS database.
