IPS invites you to the Defence of the Doctoral Dissertation by Tilen Sever titled: Phosphoproteomic analysis of legumain deficient mice. The defence will take place on Monday, 13 July 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the IPS Lecture Room (N205-N206, Jamova c. 39, 1000 Ljubljana).

Short summary:

Legumain is a protease involved in immune response and kidney function, both of which are altered in legumain deficient mice. A key change in phosphorylation of Y-box protein 1 (YBX1) at serine 100 activates NF-κB pathway, triggering increased inflammation in the kidneys of knockout mice—revealing how legumain influences homeostasis throughs effects on protein phosphorylation.
