Short summary:

The doctoral work addresses alternative solutions to vapor compression cooling. The main objective is to prepare and directly characterize thick films which exhibit electrocaloric and magnetocaloric effects at room temperature conditions. This work also investigates different aspects of direct characterization method of caloric properties.
