Problem-based learning for students in the workplace
The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth has announced the third call for applications under the public call “Problem-Based Learning of Students in the Working Environment: Economy, Non-Economic and Non-Profit Sectors in the Local/Regional Environment 2024–2027 (PUŠ in the Working Environment 2024–2027)” for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The public call (reference no. 303-9/2024-3360) was published on 4 May 2026, and the deadline for submitting applications is 15 September 2026 at 10:00. Applications will be opened on 16 September 2026.
The purpose of the public call is to enable students to gain practical experience, knowledge and competences in the working environment during their studies, while promoting cooperation and knowledge transfer between the higher education system and the economy, non-economic and non-profit sectors in the local and regional environment.
By participating in the projects, students develop entrepreneurship, innovation, creative and critical thinking, and other general and profession-specific competences that contribute to greater employability and facilitate the transition to the labour market. At the same time, the call promotes systematic knowledge transfer between higher education institutions and the working environment, greater flexibility and adaptation of study programmes to labour market needs, and the establishment of long-term cooperation between higher education institutions and partners from the working environment.
The public call is implemented within the framework of the European Cohesion Policy Programme 2021–2027 in Slovenia and is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).
The IPS also plans to participate in the third call for the 2026/2027 academic year by preparing:
Under the guidance of academic and workplace mentors, students will participate in addressing concrete interdisciplinary challenges from the working and academic environments, connecting the knowledge acquired during their studies with its practical application.
We invite all students interested in participating in PUŠ project activities in the 2026/2027 academic year to express their interest as soon as possible by contacting us at info@mps.si. The topics of the planned projects will be announced at a later date. Students are also welcome to submit their own proposals or ideas for project activities.
Students participating in the projects must meet the following conditions:
Students who are participating in an Erasmus mobility programme during the implementation period may also participate in the projects.
In previous academic years, IPS has implemented PUŠ projects in which students, together with academic and workplace mentors, gained practical experience, developed competences, and contributed to addressing concrete challenges in the workplace.
